La Fuerte Ventura

Short film about my vacation in Costa Calma, Fuerteventura. I shot everything in 4K with the Sony a7S II and the incredible ZEISS Loxia 2/50. The manual focus on this lens really is a joy to use.

I usually shoot in S-Log3, but for this film I set the picture profile to Cine4/S-Gamut3.Cine. You only lose a small amount of dynamic range in comparison to S-Log3, there are less banding issues in the 8bit footage, and you get the advantage of being able to shoot at a minimum ISO of 200 — which I did for all of the shots. After applying FilmConvert and doing the grade in DaVinci Resolve, I exported the main look of the film as a '.cube' LUT and applied it to an adjustment layer in Premiere Pro with the Lumetri effect.
